In the homespun days, food was usually fried in a big cast-iron metal pot. But modern times demand simpler solutions. The Presto GranPappy electric deep fryer fits on a countertop and is so easy to use. Just add oil, plug it in, and in 15 minutes it’s heated up and read… More >>

I’ve never had a deep fryer before, and the one my mother had had a lid on it while it was cooking. The storage lid for this one is made of very soft plastic…part of it melted yesterday just from close proximity to a stove burner. But it was still usable…until today, when I plugged the fryer in to re-heat it and the whole lid melted into the oil. (Yes, I did read the manual and knew better, but sometimes I’m just not that good at remembering things.) I’m not sure now whether it will be usable after I clean it out, might be. But honestly, this isn’t safe if you are even slightly absent-minded. [...] I admit, the price is good. Unless it only lasts a week.

Hi,
I do not personally own this product YET but I did order it today! My mom has the FryDaddy and I watched her cook with it and ate the okra, zucchini and catfish she fried in it. It was delish!!! Perfectly fried! I would highly recommend this product line to anyone looking to deep fry with convenience. I am getting the larger capacity GranPappy because I have a larger crowd to cook for. Hope this helps!

The fryer is exactly as pictured and works, but I didn’t realize there was no temperature dial! So I used a thermometer and had to keep unplugging when the temp was not correct for my cooking. I can do this but would never recommend this product. Sincerely, Betty

I am a “every other week” deep fryer and this item has worked perfectly. Very easy, holds its temp and based on reviews I read prior to purchasing, I expect it to last many years. No problems what so ever and we are enjoying it. Highly recommended.
